Once the Department of Mathematics was first established in 1927, it offered undergraduate courses before progressively expanding its resources and beginning to provide graduate-level courses in 1950. The department is the center for a variety of mathematical academic pursuits bolstered by the generous endowments of twelve highly qualified faculty members. Despite offering top-notch instruction to UG and PG students, there is a thriving environment for top-notch research in cutting-edge mathematical science fields, as evidenced by the majority of faculty members having completed numerous UGC-sponsored major and minor projects and the presence of numerous doctoral research scholars. The department's attainment of a high standard of people and material resources throughout the years suggests that it is poised to become the vibrant hub of diverse scholastic involvement, catering to students' needs for fulfilling careers in mathematics.
